“In the days when ice cream sundae was so cheap, a ten-year-old boy walked into a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. The waiter put a glass of water in front of him.
‘How much is ice cream sundae?’
‘50 cents,’ replied the attendant.
The little boy reached into his pocket and read a pile of coins.
‘How much does an ice cream meal cost?’ He asked. Some people were now waiting for a table and the waitress was impatient.
‘35 cents,’ he said abruptly.
The little boy counted the coins again. ‘I’m going to have an empty ice cream,’ he said.
The waiter brought ice cream, put the bill on the table and left. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left.
When the waitress returned, she began to clear the table and swallowed hard with what she saw.
There, neatly placed next to this empty dish, was 15 cents – his tip. ”
