How long have you been biting to start a small business? What is holding you back?

Many people are reluctant to start a small business because they think they need a healthy injection to do it.

That is simply not true.

So, how do you get started a small business?

“You can easily start a business without money. When you start, good enough. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Perfection will kill your business before you start because it costs money, and you don’t need to spend money to keep going. ”


Bootstrapping is a great way to build a business.

So once you’re done downloading everything you need to get started – permits, licenses, registering your business name, opening a business account, creating a basic website, business cards, etc.

Here are my top eight tips for starting a self-supporting business.

  1. Start With You
    If you are wondering, Would it be a good business to start? You may want to take a closer look at what you offer.

What are your skills?
What do you know best about it?
What knowledge or understanding can you share that would make a person pay good money?

Who needs your help?
No small business is right or wrong, just as there is no guarantee that some will be more successful than others. I watched the first start with amazing products fail because they didn’t know how to market themselves.


I also saw mid-range products doing very well because the founders knew how to connect with their prospects and deliver a unique experience.

“The best way to start a small business on a small budget is to start with a problem and solve it, rather than come up with something out of the ordinary. That way, you already have your audience right in front of you, and you can make your first sale faster instead of spending a lot of money on marketing. ”

So, grab a pen and paper and write down your skills, your experience, what you enjoy most working on, and who your best customer is. Use this as a starting point to find out which business you want to be in.

  1. Now Talk To Your potential Customers
    “Talk to your customers. Do not use a denarius before doing this. ”

Negotiations lead to change. They allow you to delve deeper into your expectations, discover what they are suffering from, and create a solution tailored to their needs.


Often, as business owners, we think we know our target market. We think we know what they’re looking for, where they eat the media, what message you can call them to buy your product or service, and we can’t be too wrong.

I have met many businessmen and small business owners who have invested thousands of dollars to get their company down, only to see for six months down that everything is not right. The name of the business, their contributions, the prices – all that money and time is wasted, just because they did not do their homework.

By talking to people, you build relationships and you get valuable feedback. Listen to what they have to say and how to say it; they are gifts that wrap up your content strategy. You already know what they understand so you can create a video or article that speaks directly to them.


This global market study will also show you:

Who are you happy to deal with.
Where they are located.
What their daily habits look like.
What are their pain points.
If they are interested in what you are selling.
What they are willing to pay for.
After that you need to find:

Who are your competitors.
What they do you can do better.
How to separate yourself.

    Networking saves the lives of small business owners. Creating a circle of people with first-hand experience and growing a company is critical to your success.

It may be three or four steps ahead of you, but these are people you can learn from and attack ideas. They are where you are, and they know what it takes to start a small business. Their experience may not be the same, but that is a good thing.

This is a checklist of everything you need to do to start your own small business. Yes, you can google it. Or, and this is a better idea, you can contact your business network for advice on what to include in this list and who to contact to help make things happen.


I’m talking about lawyers, accountants, creatives, name it. They will be with these people for a quick dial, and you will know that they are highly recommended.

When you have finished your list, Simon Paine suggests,

“Go through your list of what you need to start your own business and see what you can get for free, borrow, exchange, sell something for cash, or sell your value before you create it. You can start a business without money by following these principles. ”

  1. Be Cruel In Spending Your Money
    Whether you are starting your own small business as a side hustle or investing your life-saving money to deliver it, you should be very careful where you spend your money.

Keep Depending
“Spend as little money as possible, work hard, focus on the big goal of making a high-quality MVP (a small effective product) that you can do in marketing to test or sell.”

Don’t Withdraw
“Throughout the first six months of our business, the founders did not take salaries to help give the business a better chance of getting off the ground and getting harder.”

If you don’t need a paycheck, don’t.

Work from home
You do not need a luxurious office. Duncan Collins, founder of RunaGood.com, says,

“Work from home. There are no business fees to pay and no rental or service fees. ”


Also, you can record the percentage of your expenses as the tax period progresses.

Swap Your Tasks
Do you have skills, overtime, products, or services that you can change? Maybe you are a copywriter and need a designer to create your own logo and business cards.

Exchange your skills with their help. You can provide a review of their content or recommend their services to any clients you find.

Maybe you open a coffee shop and need help with licenses. You can change unlimited cappuccinos with their help in finding and handling an issue. Trading is a great way to achieve more without spending a cent.

How can you reduce costs? Who can you exchange with services? Go back to your list and add this information to it.

  1. Think About How You Want to Set Yourself Up
    Don’t be afraid to follow the premium client. In business, profits come from the way you market yourself and your position determines how much you earn. Allows you to attract the highest quality customer.

I will give you an example:

If you are a paid artist and position yourself as an underground train driver, your “customers” will treat you that way and pay you accordingly. You will work long hours, hard to earn a living.

On the other hand, if you position yourself as a paid concert performer, you will attract a very different customer and get paid accordingly.

Put yourself in the place of goods and you will always compete for the price.

  1. Concentrate on Your Power
    While business owners wear a lot of hats, sometimes, you have to face the facts about where to invest your time and energy. In the early days of starting a company, it is normal to do everything alone, work crazy hours, and never go out, but this is not healthy for you or your business.

A survey conducted by Small Business Trends found that 78% of small business owners reported being tired of the first two years of running their company. And if you are very tired, stressed, and sick at work, you will not make money.

That’s why I always tell my clients to use one thing before moving on to the next. That could be one niche, one communication platform, or the first three modules of your online course, or whatever.


But if you try to do too much, nothing is done. Just ask Dani Mancini, founder and owner of Scribly.io:

Instead of trying to do everything at once, I now focus on one thing at a time and devote myself to doing it right. Knowing where to focus your energy is very important. Ask yourself,

What is the key to my success? What do I need to do now to ensure growth in the next six months?
Once you have found this functionality then move on to the next project.

  1. Outsource Anything You Don’t Need To Do
    This leads me to my last point, to exclude anything you have limited knowledge of or is not a good use of your time.

“Sometimes you may feel that your business can’t afford it and you’ll just do it yourself, but most of the time you can’t afford it.”

If you do not know about accounting, use it externally. If you don’t know anything about web development, Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, SEO, SEM, CRMs, or create your own standard operating procedures, give it to someone who does it.

There are many independent websites where you can find talented professionals who are willing to take a set amount of planned result.

Some of the most successful small businesses started out as home-based businesses, from coffee shops, and even college campuses.


Introduce them to a product or service that is adequate. Spend $ 100 on a website template, domain name, and sign-in form.

They were constantly engaging with their market to find out what improvements could be made, what works, and what needs to be done.

They set goals, they were called kind, they lived dependent, they borrowed equipment, they traded services, they exported where necessary, they also gave profits back to their companies – this is how you build a small business for less money.
