“Two friends were walking in the wilderness. At one point during their trip, they got into an argument and one friend slapped the other in the face.
The victim was injured, but without saying a word, he wrote in the sand, ‘Today my best friend hit me in the face.’
They continued walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The victim was trapped in the mud and drowned, but his friend rescued him. After he recovered from the shock, he wrote on the stone, ‘Today my best friend has saved my life.’
A friend who slapped and saved his best friend asked him, ‘After I hurt you, write on the sand now, write on the stone, why?’
One friend replied, ‘If someone hurts us we should write it down in the sand where the spirit of forgiveness can take us away. However, when someone does something nice for us, we should write it on a piece of paper where there is no air to wipe it off. ‘”
