A Samurai known for his dignity and honesty, visited a monk to ask him for advice.
When the monk had finished praying, Samurai asked, “Why do I feel worthless? I have faced death many times, defending the weak. Still, when I saw you meditating, I felt that my health was not important at all. ”
“Stop. When I take care of everyone who sees me today, I will answer you. ”- answers the monk.

The samurai spent all day sitting in the temple gardens, watching the people go in and out for advice. He saw how the monk welcomed them all with the same patience and the same bright smile on his face.
In the evening, when everyone was gone, he asked: “Can you teach me now?”

The king took him inside and led him to his room. The full moon shone in the sky, and the atmosphere was peaceful.

“Do you see the moon, how beautiful it is? It will cross the whole sky, tomorrow the sun will rise again. ”

“But the sunlight shines brightly, and it can show details of the environment: trees, mountains, clouds.”

“I have been thinking about this for two years, and I have never heard the moon say: why not shine like the sun? Is it because I am worthless? ”

“Of course not.” – answers the samurai. “Each month is different; each has its own beauty. You cannot compare the two. ”

“You know the answer. We are two different people, each fighting in his own way what he believes in, and making it easier to make the world a better place; everything else just looks. ”
