Why You Need to Have a Meaningful Vision to Succeed

Do you feel lazy when you wake up every morning? Do you feel stressed and lack the motivation to work? When this happens to you, you have no realistic view of your job, business, and health.

Let me ask you a question, do you prefer to work for a small company with no big vision or do you prefer to work for a big company with a big vision and purpose that aims to change the world and society as a whole? A company like SpaceX?

People are naturally drawn to others with great dreams and visions. Consider Elon Musk and its founding companies, SpaceX and Tesla. There are many car companies in the world, but most people choose to work for Tesla, why not?

And what about SpaceX? A company designed to build rockets and set to be a colony of Mars. How does that make you feel? Is it fun? So, do you now know why strangers like what they do? Why are they able to wake up every day happy and excited about their dreams?

They have a positive view of what to pursue. Successful people do not view their work as a barricade, but rather, they see themselves building beautiful castles that change the world.

What about you? Whether you work for someone or run a business, do you serve the world and make it a better place? Does your work help and motivate people?

If you view your actions as a means to an end, you will never lose motivation. Every day, you will wake up feeling inspired, thinking about helping people, and changing lives. But how do you develop a realistic view of what you are doing? Here are a few tips:

  1. Make your dreams and ideas work for others
In 2007, Adam Grant researched a group of paid staff at a community university call center who were asked to call those who might donate to the school. It is not an easy task because the employees are earning too much and suffer a lot of rejection by people who are not happy about getting a cold call. The level of profit is high and the morale of the workers is low.

Think if you are a manager or team leader, how do you encourage your team to stay on the phone and continue to bring in bursary funds?

In his best-selling book, Give and Take, Adam Grant and a team of investigators conducted a research call center and arranged for a group of callers to meet with a study beneficiary. And a month later, the group collected an additional 171% and spent an additional 142% on the call.

So what happened? Yes, the call group had the opportunity to contact a study beneficiary, knowing how the money they had raised helped a truly needy person. As a result, the working class was motivated and worked hard.

When your job or business helps people live better lives, you will be motivated and encouraged to work harder. Think of a time when you helped someone. How did that make you feel? Did you feel inspired and made you feel good?

Add emotion to what you do. Do your job and business by helping others and changing lives, and you will never lose motivation again.

“If you don’t have a vision you will stick to what you know. And the thing you know is what you’ve already seen. “- Iyanla Vanzant

  1. Make your dreams and visions impact the world
When Steve Jobs wanted to hire John Sculley, then Pepsi’s manager, Jobs asked Scully, “Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to go with me and change the world?

And that prompted Sculley to quit his job at Pepsi and move to Jobs at Apple. Sculley was inspired by the dream of changing the world rather than selling sugar water.

If you look at Abraham Maslow’s Herarchy of Needs, you will see that selfishness and over-indulgence are high. As human beings, we want our work to be able to touch others, change lives, and make the world a better place.

When your work is in line with the legacy you want to build in the world, your goal is to drive you. Consider this, SpaceX is a vertical trucking company. It aims to move objects upwards instead of horizontally as some car companies do. But that’s not the way Elon Musk looks.

Musk is very concerned about colonizing the Red Planet. His vision and work with SpaceX is very clear. Musk said there is one chance out of the forty-four thousand that the asteroid will hit Earth and we could be the next dinosaurs. And, of course, he created SpaceX so we could backup people on Mars, like hard disk backup.

Most importantly, Musk often thinks and talks about his company for the next 10 years. And he speaks as if the future is happening now. That is how Musk created the logical concept so powerful that it cannot help but be inspired by it.

And that is how you can touch the world and change lives. When your work is big and purposeful enough, you can’t help but be motivated by it. As Steve Jobs put it, “If you work for fun that you really care about, you don’t need to be forced. Vision draws you. ”

  1. Giving back to the community and the community
You may think that what you are doing may not affect the world. After all, you are not Elon Musk or Steve Jobs. But don’t underestimate your ability to make the world a better place.

In 2009, a dry cleaner named Carlos Vasquez had a burning desire to help local people who had lost their jobs. So, he put a sign on his business window that said, “If you don’t work and you need a clean-cut dress for an interview, we’ll do it for you for free.”

Carlos did so because he wanted to give back to the community where the people were giving him business. But his action by mistake began to move when the media covered his story.

Some dry cleaners across the country are starting to wash free clothes for unemployed people preparing for interviews. And another cleaner named Don Chapman was inspired by Carlos’ actions. Don cleaned more than 2,000 suits for free to help the community because of one man’s act.

So how can you be a source of inspiration to others? How can you help and give back to your community and community, or the world at large? If you are an influential person, you can make a stand and choose to promote healthy products rather than junk food. Major brands are known for regular returns.

Patagonia is an outdoor clothing company that encourages others to save the environment. Nike always promotes equality. Starbucks and McDonald’s are known for their support of refugees around the world.

“Vision is a place – a definite point where we focus on all efforts. A plan is a way – a flexible way to get us where we want to go. ”- Simon Sinek

What about you? What about your company and business? What can you do to make the world a better place?

We always feel that we need to have a strong or emotional goal or vision in order to be successful. And it is true that unless you have a rewarding career, you will never be motivated and motivated to do what you have to do.

Use the 3 tips shared in this article to create your own meaningful, impactful and inspiring vision. Let your vision draw you to the success you want.
