The famous writer was in his classroom. He picked up his pen and began to write:
** Last year I had surgery to remove my gall bladder. I had to stay in bed because of this long surgery.
** That same year, I turned 60 and had to give up my favorite job. I had already spent 30 years of my life in this publishing company.
** That same year I suffered the loss of my father in death.
** That same year my son failed his medical examination because he had a car accident. He had to sleep in a hospital bed with actors for several days. The car crash was another loss.
At the end he wrote: Alas! It was such a bad year !!
As the author’s wife entered the room, she found her husband looking sad and lost in his thoughts. Behind him he read what was written on the paper. She left the room quietly and returned with another piece of paper and placed it next to her husband’s writing.
When the author saw this paper, he found that it was written on it:
** Last year I ended up losing my gall because I had spent years in pain.
** I have been healthy for 60 years and retired from work. Now I can use my time to write something better with more focus and peace.
** That same year my father, at the age of 95, did not rely on anyone else or in a critical situation to meet his Creator.
** That same year, God blessed my son with a new life. My car was wrecked, but my son survived without any injuries.
Finally he wrote:
This year has been a great blessing from God and a great success !!
MORAL: In everyday life we must realize that it is not happiness that makes us grateful but gratitude that makes us happy.
