The old king ordered the unhappy young woman to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and drink it. “How does it taste?” Asks the Master. “Too bad,” she said.
The Master then asked the woman to take some handful of salt and put it in the pool. The two walked quietly to a nearby lake and when the student put his hand in the pool, the old man said, “Now drink from the pool.”
As the water ran down the lady’s chin, Master asked, “How does it sound?” “Good!” remarks the reader. “Do you taste salt?” asked the Master. “No,” said the young woman.
The Lord said, “The pain of life is pure salt; nothing else, nothing less. The amount of pain in life is always the same, it is exactly the same. But the amount we taste ‘pain’ depends on the container we put it in. Stop being glassy. Be a pool! “
